New Year is the day that marks the end of one year and the beginning of the next year, as a temporal time component to sequence events. Rumi says: "The past and future hides God from all eyes. Put them on fire and all problems are solved". Present is between the past and the future, and actually we live in the present since the past has already gone and the future has not come yet.
The term waqt, which means, "present moment" found in the famous aphorism, al-sufi ibn al-waqt (The Sufi is the son of the moment). Understand that 'present moment' is precious since in which we are present at the instant that divided the past form the future and from God, we are defines in the actual situation.
New Year Prayer In the Name of God, the all Compassionate, the most Merciful. O God, I ask You to grant me of the mystery of Your Order and the grandeur of Your Decree You suffice me and I place my trust in You. You have taken possession of all of me. You hear my call and answer my prayer. You have banished my darkness with Your Light. You have brought my lifeless body to life with Your Spirit. It is You alone whom we adore and it is You alone we ask for aid. Our Lord, in You we place our trust; to You we turn; to You is the homecoming. There is no power nor strength save through You, the High, the Magnificent. Do not let me stand in need of any other than You! There is no god but You! Glory be to You Peace be upon the messengers. And praise be to God, Lord of the universes. Amen.
Happy New Year!
May God increase us in knowledge.
